HeadQuarters salon is located in North Vancouver's fashionable Edgemont Village.

Shamira, our company president, who has been integral to the salon's success with her 'behind the scenes' management, is now back behind the chair with her innovative and creative ideas! Scissors sharpened and ready to go!

A true Mum and multi-tasker, Shamira has been styling hair since 1984. After graduating from a programming a business faculty in Toronto in 1982, she decide to return to her native Kenya and enrol for the stylist portfolio at the then Kenya School of Hairdressing, under the L'Oreal Paris umbrella. Shamira graduated from the programme and took up the challenging position of student teacher. She then moved on to work at various salons in Nairobi. After a decade-long diversion into the airline industry, her husband Zahir brought her back into the Hairdressing industry in 1995. Shamira and Zahir had the pleasure of owning and operating three salons in Naibori before moving to Vancouver in 2001. They have owned and operated HeadQuarters since July 2005.

Zahir, acting as the company secretary, is also the main operator of the salon. With a continued love of working with 'people and hair' (or as he might say, 'hair and people'), Zahir brings a true committment, creativity and adventurous spirit to his profession. His motto is that coming into the salon each day is not about working, but loving his work. He's been fortunate enough to have the critical support of his wife and partner, to support his 'hobby' since 1983, while also raising a family.

Together Shamira and Zahir have created a business that is as much work as it is about the clients and friends who have become a major part of their life.
